Learn about the Psychology and Theatre behind Magic

For centuries, the secrets of magic have been jealously guarded, the art and craft of magic passed down within the fraternity in a mentorship model. Today, while there are videos and blogs online explaining how tricks are done, this content is usually incomplete and at times overwhelming. Rupert aims to supercharge your learning by providing private 1-on-1 instruction through his unique teaching style.

This is best exemplified during his time teaching at UC Berkeley. In 2016, he was sponsored by UC Berkeley’s Academic Senate to create Psychology 198: The Art and Theory of Deception, a rigorous upper-division course on the brain science of legerdemain and cognitive blindspots, which has produced two Penn and Teller: Fool Us winners on national television. His style of instruction is structured, personal and fun.

Rupert has journeyed across continents to seek out the tutelage of underground masters, a lifelong quest to hone his craft. He counts the legendary Richard Turner, among others, as one of his personal mentors. Peek behind the curtain to learn powerful material not taught anywhere else, and discover your inner voice and confidence. Allow Rupert to guide you in your journey to be the best magician you can be!
